Initial Teacher Training with Manor Teaching School Hub

Our mission is to ensure every child in our area has an excellent teacher; so supporting schools to engage in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and to develop new teachers is a core part of our work. Collaborating with primary and secondary schools across Walsall, Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire we are working to increase engagement in initial teacher training both through our own excellent training provision but also by encouraging partnerships between schools and training providers in our area that lead to more opportunities to train in our locality.

We partner with accredited provider Barr Beacon SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training) who have many years of experience and who provide both Primary and Secondary opportunities. Manor TSH is now recruiting to train the next generation of teachers as a lead partner with Barr Beacon SCITT.

Teacher Training at Manor Teaching School Hub

Manor Teaching School Hub is one of 87 Teaching School Hubs in the country designated by the Department for Education to deliver high quality teacher training and development. We are committed to training throughout a teachers’ career and have an excellent reputation for delivery such as through the Early Career Programme for teachers in their first two years of teaching and National Professional Qualifications for teachers ready to take the next step in their career or develop their skills further. This puts us in an excellent position to lead teacher training and support you throughout your career.

Teacher Training across the West Midlands

As well as being a provider we are passionate about encouraging recruitment into teaching across the whole of the West Midlands. We work with other Teaching School Hubs and other ITT providers to help you to find the right teacher training opportunity. The boxes below link to many of the other local providers so that you can learn more about becoming a teacher in the diverse and dynamic areas of Wolverhampton, Walsall and South Staffordshire.

How can School Leaders get involved?

We are always keen to talk to school leaders about:

• Hosting trainee teachers on placement

• Exploring salaried routes into teaching

• Hosting Intensive Training and Practice days from Sept 2024; encouraging you to work with ITT providers to welcome trainee teachers to your site for one or more days of focused, supported practice and to showcase key strengths in your school.
