Register Early Career Teachers 2023/24
Your school’s Induction Co-ordinator needs to undertake a couple of key processes to ensure your ECT(s) are registered for both Appropriate Body services and for the ECF CPD. The DFE site is the key portal which will be accessible in July 2023 in order to ensure you have new ECTs registered (both year 1 and year 2 ECTs) and also where you remove ECTs that have left school.
The following steps should be taken to register your Early Career Teachers for Induction and the Early Career Framework:
Register Your ECTs for Appropriate Body Services
If your school is new to using Manor Teaching School Hub as an Appropriate Body please provide details on this form so that we can commence your school registration.
If you are currently partnering with Manor Teaching School Hub for AB services click here to access ECT Manager to manage details of your existing ECTs or to add an ECT new to your school.
Select your provider for Early Career Framework CPD
Whilst it is possible for a school to write and deliver their own ECF training programme we strongly recommend that schools select the Full Induction Programme which is fully funded and includes backfill funding to release new mentors to complete the training to assist them in supporting your ECTs. Manor Teaching School Hub utilises the Ambition Institute programme. Ambition are one of the largest providers with significant investment in their on-going development of facilitated sessions and an excellent on-line learning platform with engaging videos and an easy-to-use tool for tracking an ECT’s development.
Update information on ECTs and Mentors on the DFE Portal
Ensure your school’s induction co-ordinator is correct on the DfE Online Service. Update information on all ECTs plus Mentors on the portal which will be open from July 2023 (this includes letting the DfE know about ECTs that have left your school). This will then provide the information to Ambition Institute and Manor Teaching School Hub as your local providers. We will then contact you to give you the dates of the relevant training sessions for ECTs and new Mentors.
In the case of ECTs who begin mid-term please contact Manor Teaching School Hub as soon as you know their first date of employment in your school/college.
We will backdate the beginning of the induction period a maximum of 10 working days before the date of formal registration with MTSH.
Registration Deadlines
Please note the deadline for registering your ECT’s on ECT Manager for Appropriate Body Services are:
September 2023 starters: Friday 29th September 2023
January 2024 starters: Friday 26th January 2024
April 2024 starters :Friday 26th April 2024
The deadline for registering your ECTs, Mentors and Induction Tutors with the DfE is the 18/10/2023
