Deputy Director's Update

My first term as Deputy Director at Manor Teaching School Hub has been both rewarding and challenging. Stepping into the leadership role of Appropriate Body (AB) and ECF Lead has been a journey of growth, navigating the complexities of supporting early career teachers (ECTs) and ensuring high-quality provision across our region.

A highlight has been collaborating with ECTs, mentors, induction tutors, and school leaders. As AB Lead, I’ve helped guide the induction process, ensuring ECTs receive the support they need to thrive. Working closely with stakeholders has shown the impact of strong partnerships and instructional coaching on ECT development. Facilitating the ECF programme has been fulfilling, with positive feedback and noticeable growth in ECT confidence.

The most rewarding part of this term has been conducting quality assurance visits and seeing the impact of our support. While challenges remain—particularly in tailoring support for schools at varying stages—these have been valuable learning opportunities. My focus this term is on refining our approach to better meet schools’ needs.

As I look ahead, I’m excited to continue building on our successes, expanding our reach, and offering tailored support to further contribute to the teaching community's growth.
